2‑Methyltetrahydrofuran is a colourless, highly flammable cyclic ether solvent derived from biomass. It’s used as a greener, higher-boiling replacement for tetrahydrofuran (THF), especially in organometallic and biphasic reactions, and in lithium battery electrolytes.
